Happy Fourth of July!

Happy Birthday America!!! We are 235 years old!  I hope you enjoy your fourth of July. I found this L.A. Times article which includes some words of wisdom from the Founding Fathers. It is interesting how some themes are timeless.

Number One Way to Have less Debt in Law School

There is one way that you won't have any debt while in law school. You want to know what it is?   Don't go to law school! haha!  Okay I'm sorry that wasn't very funny.  You could always save up for law school via the Dave Ramsey method and show up on orientation day and pay cash! lol! I would love to see the look on the face of the financial advisor when you say, nope I don't need any loans to pay tuition; I'm paying cash!

July 1: New Laws in Effect

It is July 1st and all over the United States, new laws are taking effect.  In Indiana, drivers can no longer text while driving (although reading email is not prohibited). In Florida, welfare recipients must pass a drug test before receiving benefits. In Georgia, children must ride in a booster seats until age eight (instead of age 6). In Virginia, teen drivers face stiffer penalties if they are convicted of drinking and driving. They will be charged with a class 1 misdemeanor and risk losing their driver’s license for a full year. Another interesting new law in Tennessee, will put a barrier between the domestic violence victim and the offender.  Offenders might be ordered to wear a GPS device as a condition of bail in any domestic violence or stalking case where an order of protection has been violated.

Are there any new interesting laws in your state? Which ones are you most annoyed by?

Charlie Sheen to Goddess - That car I gave you was a loan not a gift

Apparently, the goddesses left Charlie Sheen, aka, "the MaSheen". Now we wants them to return the cars he gave them in February. The legal question at issue is whether the cars were a gift or a loan? Did he give the car as a temporary mode of transportation while they were together or did he give it as a Valentine's gift. Anyway, there are some interesting legal questions  here. I hope the girls get to keep their cars!
